It is so hard to believe that it is now November 2020! This year has been filled with so much … Pandemic, social unrest; we are amid a crazy election and for many this will not be a ‘normal’ Thanksgiving Holiday. People have job insecurity, some are mourning the loss of loved ones from this virus, and as we are entering flu season the numbers for the virus are increasing everywhere.
Last month we focused on hope, and during all that was happening, keeping Jesus as our focus, our hope, just as Cecil did and does. We need to continue on that same path and now include being thankful. Is there not something in all that is going on, that we can find to be thankful for? I’m sure that you can and will find things, many things. Life, family, health, inner peace, new life in Jesus, new beginnings, second chances, home, food … the list goes on. But what is on your list?
I challenge each of you over this next month, to daily think of one thing that you are thankful for, just one thing and yes, write it down … share it on our FB, IG, or Twitter post and lift it to our Father. What you share maybe the one thing that inspires thankfulness in someone else, giving them hope. Yes, be a light in their darkness. I know that by doing this, we can all find joy in the chaos, a light in the darkness, hope where you think there is none, peace in the storm, joy for their mourning. Thanksgiving should be about being truly thankful for God’s love, grace, peace, kindness, and forgiveness.
So … I pray your month is blessed and you find thankfulness in your heart. I pray the words from this song blesses you during this month and always. Written by Henry Smith .. “Give Thanks”.
“Give thanks with a grateful heart, give thanks to the Holy one, Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son. And now let the weak say, ‘I am strong’, let the poor say, ‘I am rich, because of what the Lord has done for us, Give Thanks’!”
Happy Thanksgiving from Business Women in the Word!
